Celebrating True Provenance and Independent Craft

The Great British Market was born from a singular, delicious mission: to create the ultimate weekend stage for the finest independent food talent in the country. We believe this island is home to some of the most inspiring, hard-working makers and innovators in the world, and we wanted to build a beautiful space worthy of their craft.

BACKING CRAFT, FLAVOuR, AND INNOVATION

Our philosophy is simple: we back the creators who are rewriting the rules of food. We celebrate incredible regional growers alongside independent makers who apply world-class craftsmanship to global flavors—whether that's small-batch chocolate makers, specialty coffee roasters, or trend-led street food chefs.

By skipping the corporate supermarket aisle, we’re bringing the buzz, the passion, and the human connection back to our high streets. We are making food an experience again—for my family, and for yours. We can’t wait to share a table with you.

Our story

From Supply Chains to Community Hubs

For two decades, our team lived and breathed the corporate food industry, managing buying and supply chains for some of the world’s largest supermarkets and manufacturers. We saw firsthand how the modern world disconnects us from what we put on our plates. Food had become a transaction—wrapped in plastic, shipped across continents, and stripped of its story.

The turning point came during a trip to France. Walking through a bustling Saturday market, we were struck by the raw energy of the space. It wasn’t just a place to buy groceries; it was the beating heart of the community. Families were laughing, neighbors were catching up over fresh produce, a local band was playing, and there was an undeniable sense of pride in the air.

Looking at that vibrant market, we didn't just see a great business model. We saw the kind of world we wanted our own families and communities to grow up in.

A Mission Close to Home

As parents, our perspective on what we eat shifted entirely. We realized that sterile supermarket aisles weren't giving the next generation what they truly needed. Great British Market was born from a simple, urgent vision: to connect British families back to homegrown, seasonal food and drink.

Our team firmly believes that if we can teach our children exactly where their food comes from, we can fundamentally transform their diets and their long-term health. Food education shouldn't happen in a classroom; it should happen while meeting the very farmer who dug the potatoes or the artisan baker who crafted the sourdough. We wanted to create spaces where families actually want to hang out—places where you can shop for British produce, grab an incredible bite to eat, relax with a drink, and listen to live music while the next generation explores and learns.

Backing Our Own

Our philosophy is rooted in a fierce commitment to back British farmers, growers, makers, and innovators. Britain has some of the most exceptional culinary talent and agricultural heritage in the world, and they deserve a premium, visible platform to shine.

By stripping away the corporate middleman and the coldness of a supermarket aisle, we are bringing the buzz back to our high streets and communities.

We are making food an experience again—for our families, and for yours. We can't wait to share a table with you.
